ASNA Annual Meeting–March 20, 7 p.m.

Officer nominations welcome

The next meeting of ASNA is our annual meeting for the general membership. Our Annual meeting will be held on Monday, March 20, at 7 p.m. at the home of Kate Robinson and Chris Bayard at 1752 West Carmen Avenue.

This meeting will be a great opportunity to hear about all events that are being planned for the spring, summer and fall. Everyone will also have an Opportunity to sign up for a committee that will be coordinating each event this year. A complete calendar of events planned this year is listed below and is available for review on our website at localhost.

Additionally, we will approve our by-laws and elected officers for the 2006. Our by-laws are now posted on our website as well. Please review the by-laws before our meeting on March 20th. If you have specific changes you would like to recommend to the by-laws, please bring your written recommendation for a specific change to the meeting on March 20th. If you have several substantive changes that you would like to recommend, please email those to me directly at kevinfrederickthompson@hotmail.com prior to our meeting date.

Our by-laws require the formation of a nominating committee to accept nominations for the offices of president, vice-president, secretary and treasurer. Noel Suarez (noelsuarez@hotmail.com), Eric Schrempp (erichschrempp@yahoo.com) and Kathleen Leszcynski (Kasia@zantor.com) have agreed to serve as our nominating committee.

If you would like to nominate someone or yourself for the positions of president, vice-president, secretary or treasurer, please contact Noel or Kathleen before Friday March 17. Noel and Kathleen will accept all nominations for all offices until March 17 and then will prepare a slate for the full membership to vote on at our annual meeting.

In accordance with the by-laws, chairs of standing committees will be appointed by the president after the vote on March 20.

Finally, I will be bringing a resolution to adopt a new membership fee schedule. The proposed fee schedule is: $5 annually for students and seniors; $25 for individuals and $30 for families.

I hope to see all of you on March 20!
