Gary noted a $200.00 business contribution to the landscaping fund from A Dragon’s Life; $20.00 in membership dues; and one outstanding check for $52.33 for Winter party door prizes.
Committee Reports
Social : Chairperson Lisa was not present but phoned to indicate that the permits for the summer neighborhood party are in the works. Ideas were discussed for the party.
Greening : The ASNA Greening Day was a success, with about ten people volunteering their time to rid the Ravenswood parkway of dead leaves and trash, as well as plant grass seed. With the rain that followed, we are sure to have a lush parkway soon.
Membership/Communication : We welcomed new ASNA member, Susan Darnell, and would like to remind others to renew their ASNA membership.
CAPS Report
CAPS representative, Marsha Bukala, is confirming a date for distribution of low energy light bulbs and house numbers. It was suggested that an ASNA flyer with information about the summer neighborhood party, as well as membership information, accompany distribution of the light bulbs. Marsha indicated that we have a new police commander for our district. The next Beat 2032 CAPS meeting will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2008, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Ravenswood Evangelical Church, 4900 North Damen Avenue. Their website is www.beat2032@gmail.com.
Old Business/New Business
Susan brought up the issue of dog poop not being removed from neighborhood lawns and parkways. She suggested that ASNA put out a flyer to educate pet owners about the safety problems posed by this behavior and brought a sign currently being used by a nearby neighborhood association reminding pet owners to pick up after their pets. The meeting was adjourned at 7:47 p.m.. The next meeting will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008, at 7:00 p.m. at a location to be determined.
