47th Ward Alderman Ameya Prewar will be at the ASNA meeting on Monday, November 14. Prewar was elected in May to succeed Sugene Schulter, who served more than 20 years. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. at the Koval Distillery, 5121 N. Ravenswood. Cider and doughnuts will be served. Everyone welcome!

Autumn is upon us! Venture out into the lovely night air and come to the next ASNA meeting – 7:00 p.m. Monday, September 20, 1644 W. Carmen (home of Mark and Andy Rosenberg). Everyone is welcome! There will be a recap of the 9/14 meeting at Koval. Also, we will discuss plans for the 6th Annual Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade and Costume Contest. Hope to see you there!
It’s summertime and the living is easy….The ASNA board will meet at 7:00 p.m. this Monday, August 9, in the backyard of 1739 W. Winona (home of Kathy Leszczynski and Steve Rubel). Everyone welcome! There will be a wrap up of this year’s Neighborhood Party–please let us know your suggestions for next year. Also, preliminary results of our neighborhood residents survey will be discussed. It’s not too late to turn give your input! Just fill out and return the attached form by email or drop off at 5109 N. Ravenswood. When: Saturday, July 17 3 p.m. to dusk
Where: Winona Street (between Ravenswood and Paulina)
The party block will be closed off at noon so kids can ride bikes and play in the street. Party set up will start at 3. There’ll be a Jumping Jack, face painting for kids, Mr. Hiro the Japanese toy maker and more fun activities for all ages. Schedules permitting, we’ll have visits from a fire truck and Chicago’s mounted police—also, a live band.
As for the food, ASNA will provide hot dogs, hamburgers and a vegetarian option, also soft drinks. You bring a side dish or dessert to share. Games, portable chairs and picnic tables are also welcome.
We’ll also have a raffle with fabulous prizes (Cubs tickets, anyone?) donated by local businesses and generous neighbors. Residents who pay their membership dues before/at the party will get three free raffle tickets.

The party is free and all neighborhood residents are welcome, whether or not you belong to ASNA.
