Howl-o-Ween Costume Contest & Parade for Dogs*
For a howling good time, plan on attending this 4th annual event sponsored by the Andersonville South Neighborhood Association (ASNA) with the Bow Wow Lounge, dog daycare, 1744 W. Winona.
When: Saturday, October 25
Registration: 12:30
Parade and judging: 1:30-2:30 p.m.
Where: Corner of Carmen and Ravenswood between Lawrence & Foster
Entry fee: $5 per dog (owners free).
Grand Prize: $50
$25 cash prizes will be awarded for:
- Scariest
- Funniest
- Most original
- Best pet/owner costume combo
- Best entry from owner age 12 and under
Emcee: Ben Hollis, beloved urban adventurer and Chicago TV legend (Wild Chicago, Ben Loves Chicago, Ben Around Town)
Free admission—no dog required. Bring a chair and enjoy. Tell your friends!
Refreshments for dogs & people
Proceeds help us keep the Ravenswood Parkway clean and green.

It’s been a great growing year for plants—and weeds. Too good. While we’ve made great progress getting the Ravenswood Parkway back in shape, it still needs some TLC.
Many hands will make light work.

Save this date–Saturday, July 26, for a fun time with your neighbors. We’ll be setting up at the west end of Winona, between Ravenswood and Paulina. Hamburgers and hotdogs are on ASNA. Bring your own chair and dish to share.
[UPDATE] ASNA’s annual neighborhood party is coming up Saturday, July 26…3 until dusk. This year we’ll be on Winona, between Ravenswood and Paulina. The grills will be hot around 5. ASNA will provide hamburgers, hot dogs (including some veggie) and drinks. You bring a side dish/dessert and a chair. There’ll be a live band–the Zerostars–performing at 6:30.
